AZ Alkmaar's striker Troy Parrott will receive advice, both solicited and unsolicited, this week and the coming weeks, possibly even until Transfer Deadline Day on September 1st. It is a cacophony of voices overlapping each other, making it difficult to distinguish between valuable and less valuable information.

The statistics show that Parrott is an excellent goalscorer. He scored 38 goals in 54 games since joining AZ Alkmaar in 2024, and also had 6 international goals in 11 matches. Although the Eredivisie is known for its high-scoring nature, Parrotts numbers are noteworthy.

A question many clubs ask is why Tottenham Hotspur did not want to keep him between 2019 and 2024. He made four Premier League appearances (two in total) with just six minutes of playing time, while his Championship appearances yielded only three goals.

Parrott is also linked to two Dutch clubs: PSV and Ajax. PSV has already signed Sven Mijnans from AZ Alkmaar for 13 million euros. Ajax has signed Marcos Leonardo for 13 million euros, but he is still just 23 years old.

Spain's Real Betis and Serie A's Como are also linked to Parrott, although this does not necessarily mean much. Real Betis already has a top scorer in Juan Suarez, while Como was a strong team last season with Cesc Fabregas as manager.

In the Premier League, Brentford, Everton, and Fulham are also linked to Parrott. While they all have good goal tallies, it is unlikely that any of them would be a 'yo-yo' club where Parrott could play regularly.

West Ham could be an interesting option. They have parachute money and might find a place for Parrott in the first team. However, it is unlikely he will start immediately given the presence of another strong striker in the squad.

Parrott must therefore be cautious with his next move and consider which statistics and historical numbers are significant.
